Christie’s approval rating is now a mere 21 per cent… lower than Richard Nixon’s horrendous approval rating in the days preceding his resignation in August of 1974 as a result of the Watergate scandal!
Most NJ residents, and folks around the country, believe that he is probably a liar concerning what he knew and when he knew it, regarding Bridgegate. It is hard to imagine he wasn’t aware of the entire outrageous George Washington Bridge lane closure while it was happening… and probably before.
He has spent little time in the state he is supposed to be governing over the last few years. He has either been campaigning for President or hanging around Trump Tower hoping for a big position in Washington, or maybe a pardon if he ends up being charged and convicted of something resulting from Bridgegate.
He has turned into a major embarrassment for the State of NJ…and now this:
Governor Christie does a radio show on the New Jersey radio station New Jersey 101.5 on which he takes phone calls. A caller recently asked about marijuana legalization and potential revenues from it and here is what he had to say: “There is nothing we spend in government that is important enough to allow me to willfully poison our children for that money. That’s blood money.”
Talk about out of touch. Of course, now 60{a0e1ac3b27554dc084d9008a5b2564753091fc7c1cb5a0fad838d5926ee58260} of Americans disagree with this anachronistic point of view. And, many members of the NJ Legislature disagree also.
On a recent trip to Colorado investigating legalized cannabis NJ Senate President Stephen Sweeney stated: “I was on board before we went, but I am absolutely sold that this industry can be regulated. It’s safe, it’s well managed. Colorado has done an amazing job.”
So, a big hat tip to NJ Senate President Stephen Sweeney and the other NJ lawmakers who are on board for an end to cannabis prohibition in New Jersey.
